Travelling to United States

The United States spans six time zones and very different regions, from New York and Washington on the East Coast to California, Florida and the national parks of the West. Trips range from business meetings and conferences to study, family visits and long road trips.

Planning tips for United States

  • Start early: check the requirements for your passport as soon as you have travel dates, so there is time for every step before you fly.
  • Distances are large — your itinerary should show where you will stay in each city.
  • Use your name exactly as it appears in your passport on every form and booking.

How Vola helps with your United States trip

  1. 01

Check the requirements for your passport

Select your passport above. Vola only shows requirements from records verified against a named official source, with the source and last verification date. If your route is not verified yet, the page says so — it never guesses.

  2. 02

    Prepare and upload your documents

Start an application and upload documents as you collect them. Your progress is saved as a draft, so you can come back and finish later.

  3. 03

See the price before you pay

The Vola service fee and any government fee we have verified are shown before payment. A government fee we have not verified is never estimated.

  4. 04

    Track your application

Follow each status update in your dashboard and message the Vola team from the same page.

Questions about United States applications

Does Vola issue United States visas?

No. Vola is an independent visa assistance company, not a government agency or embassy. The decision on any United States visa or travel authorisation is always made by the relevant government authority; Vola helps you understand the requirements and prepare a complete application.

Where do the United States requirements shown on Vola come from?

From records Vola staff verify against a named official source. Each result shows that source and the date it was last verified, and records are re-checked on a schedule. If there is no verified record for your passport yet, you will see "Requirements being verified" and can ask to be notified.

Can I start my United States application before I have every document?

Yes. Your application is saved as a draft while you work on it, so you can upload documents as you collect them. A passport scan and a photo are needed before you submit.

How much does a United States application cost with Vola?

It depends on your passport and trip. Before you pay, Vola shows its service fee and, when it has been verified, the government fee. If the government fee is not verified, Vola tells you rather than estimating it.
